The Father Frank Maher Classical Music Awards represent a special night for our team and clients every year.
Established in 2001 by our Chairman, Emmet O’Rafferty, the Awards were created in memory of a teacher, Father Frank Maher, who made a big impression in his life. Known for his deep love of classical music, the teacher was renowned for the consistent encouragement he gave to generations of young musicians.
In previous years, Top Security was the proud sponsor of the event.
This year, in celebration of the 25th anniversary of these Awards, Topsec Cloud Solutions is delighted to carry the tradition forward as principal sponsor.
Over the previous quarter of a century, we’ve had the privilege of watching remarkable young musicians take to the stage. Many have been at the very beginning of their musical journeys.
The winners have done everyone associated with the Awards very proud!
Past winners have gone on to study at some of the world’s leading music institutions. These include the Julliard School in New York, the Royal College of Music in London and the Barenboim Said Akademie in Berlin.
The Awards are open to six-year students in any post-primary school in the Republic of Ireland.
Six participants will be invited to perform at the Awards on 23rd October.
The winner will receive a €5,000 bursary to support their musical development, and the remaining five contestants will receive €300 each.
The Awards have always been supported by some of the biggest names in Irish classical and popular music. These include singer, songwriter and composer, Phil Coulter, Oscars conductor, Eimear Noone, and Grammy nominated conductor, Elaine Kelly. Lyric FM’s Marty Whelan is our MC for the night.
We at Topsec Cloud Solutions are immensely proud to take on the sponsorship of the Awards.
